Where to find us

You wouldn’t think we did everything we do from looking at us from the outside!  The building is deceptive but we try to make it homely and welcoming inside. To access the Centre please use the side door from the courtyard.  We have a few different areas and rooms so please check our whiteboard inside our entrance to see where your session is taking place.

We ask that you remove your shoes when going into the main rooms so we keep the carpets clean for our crawling guests.

See an interactive map and get directions from Googlemaps

We encourage you to arrive by foot or public transport if you are able – keeping physically active is good for your physical and mental wellbeing, and of course reduces vehicle emissions in the city centre.

Arriving by foot or bicycle

We are situated on Lower Gilmore Place, just off Gilmore Place in South West Edinburgh. The centre is on the canal, minutes from Edinburgh Quay and Fountainbridge, which has cycle parking and is on one of the many Edinburgh cycle routes. There are some railings and posts on Lower Gilmore Place to which cycles can be locked.

The canal towpath provides peaceful surroundings for a stroll, with or without a buggy, before or after your visit to the Centre.

From Fountainbridge, you can reach Lower Gilmore Place by going through the archway past Akva which will take you out to the canal.  Walk along the left hand side of the canal past Fountaincourt apartments and onto the street. Walk along the street parallel to the canal and you will find us on the left hand side.

From Gilmore Place, you can access our street either from Leamington Road (directly opposite Leamington Terrace) or Lower Gilmore Place itself (directly opposite Upper Gilmore Place).

Arriving by bus

There are a number of buses that go close to the Centre.

Numbers 1, 34 and 35 go along Fountainbridge.  Please get off at the stop close to Akva, and follow the pedestrian instructions as above.

If you take bus number 10 or 27  please get off at the first stop on Gilmore Place (at Lochrin Buildings).  Continue along the road and take the first right onto Lower Gilmore Place. Continue around the corner and you will find the Centre on the left hand side.

If you take bus 11, 15, 16, or 23 please get off at the stop just before the Kings Theatre.  Cross the road at the lights on to Gilmore Place. Continue along the road and take the first right onto Lower Gilmore Place.  Continue around the corner and you will find the Centre on the left hand side.

Buggies

We have a buggy park inside the Centre.  Please access the Centre through the side door, go through the door in front of you then turn right.  You will see the buggy park is marked with dark carpet. Please be mindful of the space your buggy takes up and fold it if necessary.

If you have to drive, please be aware that on street parking is busy around the Pregnancy and Parents Centre. Restrictions (pay and display and permit only parking) are in force on Lower Gilmore Place and surrounding streets between 8:30am and 5.30pm Monday to Friday. Outside of these times you can park in pay and display and permit holder only bays and on single yellow lines.

There is a pay on exit car park at Edinburgh Quay.  Once parked exit onto the canal. Walk along the left-hand side of the canal past Fountaincourt apartments and on to the street.  Walk along the street parallel to the canal and you will find us on the left hand side.
